Worlds Bound:  Local dance studio takes on the best of the best

For the fifteenth consecutive year, the Power of Dance studio will be heading to The Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida.  The Dance Worlds is an international dance competition that brings together over 3000 dancers from 25 different countries to compete in five different styles of dance.  It is an invitation-only event, with participants earning bids at qualifying competitions.  Power of Dance earned their first bid in 2011, and have been invited every year since then.

The 2025 Power of Dance Worlds Team has already earned bids for all four of their completed routines, and hopes to add a fifth bid when they finish their final routine for the season.  Power of Dance competes in five different styles: pom, jazz, kick, hip hop, and contemporary/lyrical.  Each routine must earn a bid in order to compete at The Dance Worlds.  Power of Dance is the only studio to have ever earned bids in five different styles, and they have done so every year for the past seven years.

This year’s Worlds Team includes 24 dancers ranging in age from 13 to 18.  Many of them got their start in POD’s preschool dance program, while others started dance later or transferred in from other recreational or studio programs.  For graduating senior Olivia Stedl, this will be her fifth and final time competing on the Worlds stage.  Stedl says. “I enjoy competing against teams from places so far away, and it’s so cool to see that people from different parts of the world all have a common passion for dance.”

The Dance Worlds takes place at Disney World in late April.  To help cover travel costs, the Power of Dance Worlds Team is seeking business and community sponsors, who receive advertising opportunities in return.  To learn more about Power of Dance programs or to inquire about sponsorship opportunities, please contact the studio at desk@powerofdance.com or 920-661-9212.
