OUR PROGRAMS

Class Overview

We offer classes for ages two through adult as well as competitive teams for ages 4-18. Our studio offers something for everyone with ballet, jazz, hip hop, pom, tap, contemporary/lyrical, pointe, acro and targeted skill classes, among other offerings. Class and level descriptions are available below. All students new to a dance style should begin in level I or I+, according to their age. If you are interested in a class that is listed as approval needed, please contact the studio to talk to a director.

Our Toddler & Preschool program is designed around playing with a purpose. Each week is an exploration in music, rhythm, beats, and self-expression. Children are encouraged to move their bodies and use their fine and gross motor skills. We use tons of props, bright colors, shapes and simple “games” to teach our pre-schoolers through play. Besides dance, children will also learn about taking turns, following instructions, cooperation, and becoming independent.

Classes are designed for children still exploring dance and all it has to offer. Most classes are 45-60 minutes and are designed to mix and match to allow you to customize your child’s dance schedule. We encourage you to register your child for at least two to three classes whether they be back-to-back or on separate days. Children this age can start taking acro (gymnastics for dance). Intro to acro does not require a skills evaluation.

Classes are designed for slightly older children exploring dance or children working to build on what they’ve taken when younger. Most classes are 45-60 minutes and are scheduled to allow you to customize your child’s dance schedule. We encourage you to register your child for at least three to four classes. This is a great time to begin taking technique classes if your child isn’t already taking them: Ballet, Acro, and/or Leaps/Turns/Jumps.

Classes are designed to encourage growth from your child. Dancers should be prepared to practice more often and really dive deep into individual styles. New dancers are of course also welcome! Classes are 45-75 minutes and are scheduled to allow you to customize your child’s dance schedule. We encourage you to register your child for at least four classes, although there is no minimum class requirement. Both Technique and Performance classes are recommended.

Classes are designed for dancers who like to be challenged, are willing to practice at home, and are committed to improvement. These are also great classes for competition dancers looking to supplement their competition schedule. We encourage you to register your child for four to five classes during the week, but there is no minimum requirement. Both Technique and Performance classes are highly recommended. All technique classes are graded and require testing to advance levels.

For dancers looking for more opportunities to grow, develop, and work as a team in the sport of dance, we offer our competition program (All Stars). Performance Teams meet twice a week minimum: one day for team practice and another for ballet technique. Supplemental classes are encouraged but not required. Dancers may audition for Performance Teams through August.

Elite teams of the All-Star program include our “Stellar and Eclipse” levels. Both levels have two team practices a week plus ballet & technique. Supplemental classes are encouraged but not required. Auditions are in early summer for the following season. For more information on our competition programs, please contact the studio.

Learn the basics of jazz, lyrical, contemporary and hip-hop. This class is easy enough for beginners yet still fun for those with experience. Designed to be a fun class, where you learn simple choreography in a relaxed atmosphere.

Class Descriptions

We know that adjusting to learning about a new activity takes time and can be overwhelming. Please do not hesitate to ask for help! We are here for you. Here are some tips to help get your dancer off on the right foot and set them up for success.

  • Music & Movement – This class is designed for children just beginning to explore activities away from the caregiver. Music and lots of props are used to enhance self-expression, motor skills, and following directions. No formal routine is taught but children ARE invited to be a part of our Spring Recital.
  • Petite Dance – A second-step independent preschool class that takes what is learned in DE and goes further. Routines and activities require a bit more attention and multiple steps. The recital routine is jazz-based but includes elements of other styles.
  • Dance Expressions – Introduction to basic jazz, pom, ballet, and hip hop technique as well as body positions, beats, and counting
music. This class performs in our spring recital.
  • Tiny Tappers – Introduce your preschooler to the basics of tap including rhythm, tempo, and musicality. Tap also helps develop fine and gross motor skills. This class performs tap in our spring show.
  • Ninja Tumbling – Introduce your preschooler to the basics of tumbling. Gross motor skill development is stressed. No formal
    dance routine taught.
  • Ballet/Jazz Combo – Dancers begin class with ballet technique and move to jazz choreography. A great way to give little ones a taste of ballet before taking a classical ballet class. One routine (jazz) learned for rectial.
  • Acro – Tumbling for dance. This class is designed to work on gymnastics and hip-hop tricks on both a mat and a dance floor. Students will learn strength, technique, and flexibility skills. Placement by evaluation.
  • Ballet – Dancers perform exercises composed of movements from the traditional vocabulary of classical ballet. It is here that their technique is maintained, strengthened, and constantly refined. Ballet is the basis of all dance and is recommended for every dancer. Placement by evaluation.
  • Pom – This type of dance focuses on sharp motions using pom pons to create pictures for visual effect. Teamwork, synchronization, and creativity are stressed. Great for those who want to be on high school dance teams!
  • Jazz – Jazz involves musical interpretation, technical steps, skills and control. Portraying the emotion of a piece is a main goal of the dancers. This style allows dancers to really express their personality.
  • Tap/Jazz Combo – Dancers begin class with jazz technique and move on to tap choreography. Enhances rhythm and timing. One routine (tap) is learned for recital.
  • Hip Hop – Hip hop dance is a range of street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture. This highly athletic, highly energetic dance focuses on visual effectiveness and crowd appeal.
  • Tap – Dance tapped out audibly by means of shoes with soles and heels to which taps have been added. Great for dancers interested in musical theater. Enhances rhythm and timing.
  • Leaps/Turns/Jumps – Come learn to do the “tricks” of dance. Beginner classes will focus on basic technique, while more advanced classes will work on perfection and skill combinations. A must for any serious dancer. Placement by evaluation.
  • Pointe – Pointe focuses on performing the movements and exercises of classical and neoclassical ballet, while on pointe. Ballet experience is needed. By recommendation only.
