Leveled Summer Program

CLASSES FOR INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED DANCERS

Our leveled summer classes are designed for dancers who are ready to take the next step in their training. Classes are grouped by level and emphasize technique, strength, and proper execution across a variety of styles. Dancers are encouraged to take multiple classes to build versatility, reinforce fundamentals, and continue progressing in a supportive, goal-oriented environment.

Registration for leveled classes is by teacher recommendation only. Continuing POD dancers should use their ballet level as a guide for all dance classes. Acro levels may be different — ask us if you need help finding your level. If your dancer is new to Power of Dance but has previous dance or gymnastics training, contact the studio for a ballet or acro evaluation.

Summer is an ideal time to stay consistent, refine skills, and explore new challenges—without the pressure of a full-season commitment. Whether continuing their training or looking to grow further, dancers will benefit from meaningful, focused Movement That Matters.

Summer Dance Intensive

This camp week is an exciting chance for tween & teen dancers to stay active, try new styles, and grow their skills! With classes grouped by age and experience, dancers of every level feel supported and challenged. Experienced dancers will stay sharp, while new dancers can explore styles like Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Acro, and more in a welcoming, upbeat atmosphere.

WHO: students entering 5th through 12th grades

WHEN: Monday June 22 through Thursday June 25, 1-5pm each day

PRICE: $210 includes free t-shirt


Four-week summer session: July 6-30

Classes run for four weeks and may end with a parent performance during the final class. Dancers should take multiple styles, and are encouraged to double up on ballet and technique classes for maximum progress. Classes are scheduled with back-to-back options for parent convenience.

Leveled Class Descriptions

Acro

Instructor approval required. Building on foundational skills, athletes work on more complex skills and combinations. Focus on strength, flexibility, and proper technique.

Balance & Control

Designed for advanced dancers, this class focuses on strengthening stability, control, and overall movement quality. Through targeted conditioning and exercises, dancers will improve balance, alignment, and body awareness to support stronger, more precise technique across all styles.

Ballet

Dancers expand on foundational technique with more complex combinations and increased focus on strength, flexibility, and movement quality.

Contemporary/Lyrical

Take your movement and expression to the next level. This class focuses on stronger technique, transitions, and control, while encouraging dancers to connect more deeply to the music and choreography. Dancers will continue building strength, flexibility, and performance quality in an encouraging and supportive setting. Dancers must also be enrolled in Ballet to take this class.

Hip Hop

For dancers with a strong foundation who are ready for more, this class builds on hip hop basics with fun, dynamic choreography, grooves, and style. Dancers will improve coordination, musicality, and confidence in an upbeat, supportive environment.

Jazz

This class builds on jazz technique with turns, leaps, and combinations that improve strength, flexibility, and control. Dancers will grow in confidence and style while enjoying upbeat choreography.

Kick

For dancers with multiple years of kick experience, this class builds on foundational skills with an emphasis on height, precision, and consistency. Dancers will work on more complex combinations and improved control. Highly recommended for anyone considering or preparing for kick team.

Leaps, Turns & Jumps

Dancers refine technique and begin working on more advanced turns, jumps, and leap combinations with increased strength and control. Strength & Flexibility is strongly recommended to maximize training and performance.

Pointe

Pointe is by invitation only. If interested, contact Tanya. Pointe 1 is an introduction to pointe work for dancers who have demonstrated the strength and technique required to begin. Focus on proper alignment, foot strength, and foundational pointe exercises. In Pointe 2 & 3, dancers continue building strength and control on pointe while progressing to more complex exercises at the barre and center.

Pom

Dancers will build on pom fundamentals with sharper motions, jumps, turns, and fun choreography. This class focuses on strength, precision, and confidence in a high-energy, supportive environment.

Strength & Flexibility

Focus on improving flexibility, strength, and control with exercises that prepare dancers for more advanced skills. Strongly recommended before LTJ.
