Tween & Teen Program
CLASSES FOR FOURTH GRADE AND UP
Our Tween & Teen program is designed for dancers in 4th grade and up who are ready to grow, challenge themselves, and build confidence. Whether brand new or experienced, dancers can develop technique, artistry, and self-expression in a supportive environment. With a variety of performance and technique classes, students can create a schedule that fits their interests while exploring multiple styles and building versatility. As they progress, they strengthen their skills and gain valuable life lessons like discipline, resilience, leadership, and teamwork. To help dancers get the most out of their training, we recommend a combination of both performance and technique classes.
Performance classes include a costume and a choreographed routine to be showcased in our year-end recital. Performance class options include ballet, jazz, pom, hip hop, and tap. Technique and skills classes meet weekly to focus on developing specific dance skills but do not learn a recital routine or perform in the year-end recital.
2026-27 School-Year Session
Classes meet weekly from August 31 to our recital (usually early May). Parents are invited in several times a year for formal observation weeks, and are welcome to watch class any time via the monitor in our lobby. Dancers this age are encouraged to take three or more classes in order to experience multiple styles and accelerate their growth. Classes are scheduled with back-to-back options for parent convenience. All classes except Acro and Leaps, Turns & Jumps perform in our year-end recital.
If a class is currently waitlisted and you are interested in enrolling, please add your dancer to the waitlist. Class placements often shift, and we frequently open additional sections when there is enough interest. Joining the waitlist is the best way to ensure we can accommodate as many dancers as possible.
See Our Performance Classes in Action!
From the athletic precision of pom to the creativity of jazz, the energy of hip hop, and the artistry of ballet and tap, our performance classes give dancers the opportunity to train, express themselves, and shine on stage. Throughout the season, students build confidence, form meaningful friendships, and work toward a year-end recital experience that celebrates their hard work and growth. Watch the video to see a sample of routines from recent recitals.
Technique classes are an important part of helping dancers continue to progress and reach their goals. Classes such as Acro and Leaps, Turns & Jumps focus on developing the strength, flexibility, control, and proper technique needed to succeed across all styles of dance. Because these classes emphasize skill development and progression rather than choreography, dancers do not learn a recital routine or perform in the year-end recital, allowing them to fully focus on building a strong technical foundation.
Leveled Classes
Instructor approval is required for these classes. Continuing students should consult their spring progress report or contact the studio for confirmation of their class levels. New students with previous dance or experience can contact the studio for more information or an evaluation.
