POD MASTER SCHEDULE

POD CHECKLISTS

  • This is an OPTIONAL competition for Solos/Duets/Small Groups – meaning, it was known ahead of time that the instructors may or may not be able to attend for each individual performance. Solos/duets/small groups will need to be responsible for themselves in checking in backstage and getting prepared to dance.  There is typically a group of tables set up for Rainbow where you can ask where the dressing rooms are located and where dancer ‘check-in’ is prior to being on-stage.  Dancers are responsible for checking in with the backstage Rainbow personnel if an instructor is not present.
  • Teachers WILL be there for TEAMS & BALLET CLASSES.  Please look for your main instructor.
  • Considering this is a studio competition, they tend to run things differently.  The competition could run up to 1.5 hours early or behind.  (Typically, it’s 30-60 min either way.)  Please stay on the TEAM APP – for if an instructor is there and can send that information out, we will via text through TEAM APP.
  • CHECK YOUR CHECKLISTS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT THE HYATT AND BEFORE LEAVING THE HYATT.

Divisions are broken down by not only age but also style and experience (hours of weekly instruction time).   The kids will show and compete as:

Starz of Tomorrow – 3 or less hours of technical based class.  Minimal competition experience

Rising Starz – 3-5 hours of technical based class with moderate competition experience

Elite Starz – 5+ hours of technical based class with significant competition experience

Levels of Scoring: Gold, High Gold, Platinum, and Double Platinum (the highest you can receive).  Each routine will receive an individual adjudication award.  However, there are many other awards that the dancers or teams may also receive.  Please see this DANCE COMPETITION SCORING document for an explanation of possible awards and a comparison to awards at USASF competitions.
