POD Showcase of Dance

to benefit The Giving Tree

2024 Showcase program

WHO:  ALL teams: Performance, Stellar & Eclipse

WHEN:  Saturday, December 7

WHERE: Bay View Middle School

BEFORE SATURDAY:

  • Make sure your dancer has everything they need to perform.  Each team has a “costume checklist” in this folder – these have everything you will need for Saturday.  We will use these for every competition and performance this year! Please use the checklists.
  • Make sure that your dancer has the appropriate makeup for their team level. CLICK HERE FOR COMPETITION MAKEUP  Especially if your child is new to team, please, do a makeup test run BEFORE Saturday!  (Also a good idea for our younger returning dancers.)
  • Has your child been practicing their routine?
  • Gather your donation of non-perishable food items or personal care items.  See The Giving Tree’s list of most-needed items here. If you prefer to give a monetary donation, there will be a collection jar also.

ON SATURDAY:

The Showcase will be held at Bay View Middle School in Howard (corner of Cardinal and Wooddale, use parking lot entrance on Wooddale), and dancers and spectators will enter through Door #9. It is in the back of the school.

Dancers should be dropped off at 3:15pm. Dancers need to arrive in costume, with hair and makeup ready to go.  They may bring a small bag for their shoes, jacket, water bottle, etc.  Our POD volunteers will escort dancers to the practice space, where their coach will be waiting for them!  Dancers will warm up together, practice their routine, and stay together as a team until the end of the event.

New this year, spectators will be allowed in the gym at 3:15pm when your dancer is dropped off.  POD Volunteers will be at the door to collect your donation of non-perishable food items or personal care items.  If you prefer to give a monetary donation, there will be a collection jar also.

The performance will begin at 3:45.  This year’s showcase includes 9 routine performances, followed by a whole-group picture with all the donations at the end.  Then dancers will return to their practice space to change shoes and retrieve anything they brought with them.  We anticipate that the event will be about an hour long from start to finish.

COMPETITION CHECKLISTS  If your dancer’s checklist is not updated, or if you have any questions regarding their costume/hair, please direct those to their coach for that routine.
